Janica Buhain hails from UST College of Fine Arts and has initially majored in advertising. Pursuing a much greater passion for the arts, specifically in learning new media in the digital world, Buhain decided to take Multimedia Arts in Asia Pacific College. Here she eventually steered towards Studio Arts, allowing herself to build her talents on portraiture and realism among other styles and across various media, including tattoos and make-up as forms of her own "artistic" expression.

Buhain has rekindled a liking for painting under the tutelage of contemporary Filipino Artists such as K. Roxas, J. Pacena II, A. Magno, among others. Her first oil painting, Salingket (18x12) found its way to the Nineveh Art Space (Sta. Cruz Laguna)

Since then, Buhain continued to produce works that has gone to competitions such as the Shell Art Competition (2010) and has also participated in a number of art exhibits, the most recent one being last March 2013 via the all-female ensemble for "The Secret Garden", where her 3-piece 12x12 acrylic on canvas work entitled "Inside de mi L'amour" was exhibited.

Buhain believes that there is much accomplishment in graduating from the bounds of education with a bankable experience of expressing herself in an untampered, raw, and definitive artistry. She hopes to pursue other passions, including learning new techniques such as abstract art and fauvism, while still being the artist that she has,so far, established herself to be.
